Michaelangelo Website Reviews

Michelangelo was one of the most inspired creators of art especially during the Italian High Renaissance. He was a sculptor, architect, painter, and poet and exerted tremendous influence on his contemporaries and on the followers of Western Art in general. He was born on March 6, 1475 in a small village called Caprese. His father was a Florentine official named Ludovico Buonarroti who initially opposed his desire to become an artist, but he was eventually apprenticed in 1488 to Domenico Ghirlandaio. Whether in painting, sculpture, and architecture, his impact on contemporaries and future generations has been immense up to our time.***

Site Two Detailed Review- http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/michelangelo/

The website features webMuseum, Paris paintings of Michelangelo. It provides a short summary and a photo of the specific painting featured. I find the quote “I cannot live under pressures from patrons, let alone paint” evidence to the difficulties and sacrifices he had undergone as an artist. It just goes with the saying, “Success is one percent inspiration but ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Another great man said this, the scientist Albert Einstein. It somehow inspires me to work harder too because to be able to achieve success would not be an easy feat. External links and references can be accessed through Wikipedia articles on Michelangelo.***
